Executive Leadership Changes at Major Hospital

Former vice president Jack Horner, a long-time administrator with Major Hospital, will serve as interim president and CEO of Major Hospital and its related organizations as of August 11, according to Curtis Gene Jones, chairman of the Major Hospital Board of Directors. Jones announced the board’s decision after accepting the resignation of former CEO Tony Lennen.

“As Major Hospital and its practice groups achieved dramatic growth over the past decade, Jack Horner served as a virtual Chief Operating Officer in partnering with Tony and other members of the Major Hospital executive management team,” said Jones. “As we go forward, we remain confident that Jack’s direct experience will serve well the physicians, professional staff and most of all, the hospital’s patients and families in providing outstanding healthcare and related professional medical services.”

“Growth plans for the new expanded orthopedic and OB-GYN services will continue to move rapidly forward, and we anticipate that the culture of service excellence at Major Hospital will continue unabated,” he said.

The board plans to use a formal search process to name a permanent successor to Lennen. In accepting the resignation of Tony Lennen, the board formally expressed its thanks for his service and noted that his interim successor was expected to “provide sound and consistent leadership during this transition period.”
